I have a way to fix it as well, so cut a 7 inch by 7 inch square, use some wood and frame along the edges screw the drywall into the wood. Then get a new piece of drywall cut the exact shape of your light fixture and push drywall into place then screw it in. Now you need to finish the new drywall patch instead of the edges of the light fixture. A lot more work but it's a different way to fix this. Haha
