I am doing a condo reno and the ceiling is concrete. Its been painted and textured prob 40 yrs ago. Some of the paint is cracking. Guy wants the ceiling smooth but can't put drywall up. Can I skim mud over this and will it stay or will it peel off eventually? Thanks Aaron
I'm hoping to do a tray ceiling in one room of a condo where I just removed the popcorn, turns out its concrete so whats the best way to fasten the 2x2s? tapcons seem like overkill and a lot of work, I was thinking glue, but how to hold them up while it sets
I am fixing a plaster ceiling Im just going to hang new rock right over the top of the plaster screwing into the joists. Im just wondering if anyone has done this before and has any tips. I want to make sure its all done right.
<P>I just gave a customer a bid for scrapping off the popcorn texture thats there and making them smooth. Whats the best way to plastic off. its in the kitchen so lots of cabnets and other lovly items. And whats the cleanest way to scrap off the ceiling.</P>
I was planning on insulating and DWing my garage ceiling (15' height), the beams are 2x6's and someone mentioned that it's too narrow and wouldn't have enough ventilation and would accumulate moisture and eventually mold if I did so.
Is this correct?
