Default Work Load

How is everyone doing as far as there work loads, are they starting to see an increase in the job market ? Are you steady, slow, or picking up more ? Are you finding that you are doing more bidding and estimating ? Are you most finding that you are doing smaller and less attractive jobs that you normally would not do ? Still steady here nothing to major in the works but enough to keep busy. Bid wise still have to keep the old pencil sharp and a little more detailed on specifics.

I took one as a fill in when i could get to it last nov. Well I am still filling it in what a crappy job typical everything that you could do wrong hanging was done. Every outlet missed ( with the outlets and switches in, many extra butts, screws sticking out, poly sticking out in some of the angles, screws at an angle in the inside angles which are hard to get in, rippers against factory flats , old yellow sheetrock, homeowner started to tape and paint already coming apart, some beads installed twisted you name it . One of the worst I have seen in a long time. Thank god they don't care when it gets done. Thought I would have it done weeks ago but just haven't had the time to even get there. One you would normally run the other way if you would see it. I took it on thinking I would need the work but every time i think i have some time to work on it more work keeps coming in. The owner sent me 1/2 down so I am commited to the project.

It's dead around here. I'm surviving on basements and repairs.

I am very busy here as well - had to turn a few jobs away. Basements and repairs have a better margins than NC looking on the bright side!

Your right, I can make more money per hour on the small jobs.
It just takes a lot of those to stay busy.

I am in NC and work has stopped. Unless you wanna hang rock for $.06 a sqft. I own a legal company, maybe thats why i can not get work....I wished it was 4 years ago. But I will keep bidding with my prices. I dont use illegals.
I was in Charlotte the other day and saw tower crains not moving, I looked but only saw latino on the job. Fuk my government.....Obama will invent a surf board for riding oil wavs and call it a day.
I feel btter now........LOL

Really busy here too. We are one of the lucky places that for one reason or another did not get affected by the downturn. Last year was actually my best year ever.
