Old Plaster
Estimated out some plaster repair today really wasn't sure on what numbers to use , being that most old plaster jobs you just really don't know what you are getting into. Some with the sand finish that has been painted so many times that most of the original finish has disappeared . Some rotten spots that who knows when you start pulling out the lose stuff it seems to never end (over wood lath the worst ). Hopefully it won't be as bad as it looked . It is in a very old church and there is about 8700' of it. Very high walls in the sanctuary and where the organ is which is about a huge as an organ can be reaching 20 some ft into the air , which is another pain to work around. The good thing is there is a lot of new rock going in , all level 5 which don't make sense being is they want to do a sand finish over it , oh well cha-ching I like the sound of that. So what are you out there doing on numbers on these jobs ? I went for .75 over all for the plaster end of it(on total ft.) and hope that only a small percentage of the plaster will need attention , if that is the case It could be worth it , and if not i guess I'll be working for just wages between $45-65 per hour . Maybe I'll have to give Whitey a call to come do some coating for me after all he only lives about 4 hrs away .

Re: Old Plaster
Hell yeah, I'm always up for it!
It's either that, or I got a call today to go to Denver to deal with the hail battle. |
