You get $10.00 to install a stick of corner bead? That's nice work if you can get it. We usually get $4.00-$5.00 per stick to install. And that is not bad money if the framing is o.k.. Window wraps here are equal to an extra sheet of drywall. $11.00- $12.00 to each the hanger and the finisher.

We also had to pay for the stick, install, coat twice and sand ( If bullnose) . Now if we do a job with lots of corners we just bump up the square foot price.

Sure, we must aim for the stars; before the market place drags us back down to earth again. It is important to constantly test the market. Nothing worse than commiting to a sizable project at a low price, only to find you could make more elsewhere. Accepting one project can cost you an opportunity elsewhere. But then again, losing a good project to a lower bidder because you were testing the market can be a bummer too.

Re: Do you charge extra for window and door returns?

We got the job and will be starting this week. The specialized TT bullnose cost 3 x as much as regular. The saving grace on the project will be the Fresco Harmony. The numbers are pretty easy. At 2.00 per sq ft to Hang, finish, and Fresco Harmony. The project total is around 20k. Labor and materials will eat up my original drywall bid .75 = 7500.00. Labor @ .28 per sq ft to hang and finish = 3,000 and material = 4,500 (gulp!). The guys I found are good but they won't have to sand. Only finish to a level 3 and a little extra time on the corner bead. The drywall is a wash but I would charge extra for drywall art in the future. Probably add 1000.00. All profit margin and drywall art research will be made from the Fresco Harmony. 1.25 per sq ft = 12,500. 1,500 material cost and 2,00 labor leaves a profit margin of just under 10k. That's good on one house. I have to be conscious of the paint and texture bid though. We're only 2,000 over. If I'm too high I won't get the job. It's extremely competitive here. Fresco Harmony and TT will work together nicely to create something that's never been done at a very attractive price. We'll be hosting an open house with builders in the area to showcase this home. Of course I'll be posting picture here.
