Hi Guys,
I am a former sheetrocker, drywall business owner (toughest trade in residential building) turned GC back in 93 still do a lot of small stuff myself, as a builder am most critical of drywallers, however in cost estimating I do allow for touchup and trade repairs. I am considering using USG tuff hide over existing ceilings painted flat white, almost every screwed revealed itself in the two years since customer moved in. There is a vast amount of morning sunlight both direct and reflective off the bay. the screws have been reset and three coated and butt joints had to be re-coated. according to usg this product will produce a level five finish and will not be necessary to apply a finish coat, seems like a no brainer! There is about four thousand sq ft to repair. The walls in this house are painted Ben Moores Arizona Tan my customer would like to have a sprayed on finish to match an old plaster finish as close as possible to finish paint color. Any info would be appreciated |

Tuff Hide is thick you will need the right sprayer/tip. Just finished 400 sheets new construction. Had to redo a ceiling over flat white paint because lack of adequate temp causing the product to fisheye. Make sure surface/air temp is at least 60. The product will lay down. It's cheaper then the Builders Solution $50 vs. $75 per 5 gal. We used the Mark V with a 5/21 tip at 3000 PSI and cross hatched the spray pattern horizontally then immediatley vertically with great results enough pigment where we did not need to paint. What about the walls?
