Just another drywaller...

Hi there...I can tell already I am going to like this site. I never thought to check on if there are any drywall forums out there! This will give me a nice break from debating on political BS sites!

It is going to be nice to have some intelligent discussion on something I've got a little too much experience in...

Most of my lifes work experience is in Sheetrocking, Taping, Texturing, and Primer Painting...

Looks as though a few of you certainly know the trade....

Usually hard to sway people in debates, which normally uses logic. Errors in thinking usually arise from errors in perception, not errors in logic. A Harvard study said perceptional errors seem to cause about 90% of thinking errors, as opposed to logic errors causing it. And if Harvard said it, it must be right. (Wait a minute. Isn't that the logical error of 'appeal to authority'?)

As one prof of mine once put it, "Based on what we know and think we know at the time; how we feel emotionally at the time; etc.; all of us are right in our views about something at that time - although all of us could be wrong about it at the same time (eg. think back to when everyone in the western world seemed to believe the world was flat). I thought he might have something there.

So I've pretty much given up on discussing politics, religion, etc. Give me something more 'solid' and honest to discuss. Like drywall mud. Everyone here is in harmony about that. ~

Some good insights. I think I may borrow some of this for my political sites...
