For the record, Dale is the guy that did the wild texture on the "Drywall Texturing" "Need help with Pattern..." thread we were talking about.

Re: Hi, I'm from the UK. Love to join you all
Thanks for your inputs guys, I'd love to help if you want ideas for creating textures, (but I'm not allowed to put my website link here)
Just a little thought thou, there are many who texture here in the UK, but on the other hand there are only a (small) handful who would be recommended for their work because it shows in the final finish, I know many texture guys that want to just get in & out with the sole purpose of cash in mind, although this is one of the major factors for working, I take on that enjoying what I do is essential to my creativity, which is very important to my health, because I am personally creating a masterpiece onto some one's ceiling & wall for every one to see give myself great satisfaction, plus, when my customer pays me to texture, I keep in mind that they are not just paying a texturing contractor, but they are actually paying me for my expertise, besides, the texture pattern is there permanently. Hope to speak to you all later, thanks.

Hi Muddauber
Tell me something if you wouldn't mind, what tool do you use to create the shell design onto the surface? Thanks

It's a plastic tool much like yours. It has sort of a tail piece on one side with a pivot pin that slides in a slot opening to get your shell design. Also has a mark on the tool to position each shell to get a uniform pattern. I seal the ceiling with Kilz to keep the mud from drying out while texturing. |

Re: Hi, I'm from the UK. Love to join you all
Thanks Muddauber, the tool sounds interesting, I have never heard of it here, many people don't know which tool to use to create the pattern, there is not one available over in the States and Canada but looking at your creative textures this is not so, have the tool got a name, and it sounds like you may be able to adjust it to create different textures. Anyway Muddauber, thanks for your reply & have a good new year.
