Hi to everyone

Hi all, I'm John out of St. Louis, MO

Was doing some searching on pricing because in my area it is getting whacky, and found this site, read a few posts and thought I should sign up.

Looking forward to learning more and hearing how others are fairing in this economy

Re: Hi to everyone

good luck, what i have found in the past few years is that there is a wide price difference depending on location. I'm about 30 min. north of pittsburgh and the price difference is almost 1/2 in pittsburgh of what i'm getting around home. I try to stay out of the city unless I'm really hurting for work. I always try to get what the other bids were if possable, but 90% of the bids i put out i'm the only one bidding on the job. makes it nice when the next closest drywall contractor to me is a least 30 miles away. I once had a old time contractor tell me "if your getting most of the bids your putting out your not charging enough" so what i did is i just kept raising my rates until i found a happy med. seems to be working out so far. I'm usually booked 3 months in. I got things now to the point where contractors call me as soon as they get the o.k. on and job and they give me an about time when they will be ready for me. good luck !
