You can go to the library check out the construction estimator or remodel estimator it comes with a CD-Rom you can load in to your computer it will give you a general price for labor and materials for new construction and remodel work .

Re: Drywall Material Pricing

I would like to offer a little bit of info from the point of view of a stocker. I have been a stocker for about eight (8) years. Let me start by saying that I truley like my chosen profession, and you are right it is not for everyone. We can not all sit around and complain about how it was done incorrectly, or make assumptions about the education level of others (I personaly have a series 7 &66 what the SEC gives to those who have proven to the federal goverment that they have the abilty to handle the investments of others). I can tell you this though in my years in the business I have seen some of the dumbest things ever perpatratied by mankind achieved by you THE CUSTOMER. Some of these things are but not limited to dumpsters in the way, windows not removed upon arrival, fields of mud restricting the entering of the jobsite, expecting people to walk the board across planks, pull it through small windows (and then want to complain about damage)...when if you would have had it stocked two (2) before there would have been no problems, the pressure of "needing the board today" only to get there to see that the house has not one batt of insulation in it (which might I add is a pure joy to me...cause i will slam it all in two (2) piles FLAT IN THE FLOOR, or the fact that you guys insist on ordering 14'-16' board for a house that does not have a 13'6" wall in it(that is when the window gets taken out and the board goes in the window and into the closet at an angle so that it can be cut to 12' to remove it without taking the window out... the lenght that it should have been to begin with:-), or how about my alltime favorite.... the constant crying that I have to have the board in that house today....it is only down pouring, but the board got wet; ike some of your women parts. When i come across customers like you guys I just smile cause in the end it is only my job to get it into the building not to hang it for you or tape it for that matter. So the next time you have to pull each bundle out away fron the wall to tear the tab think about me boys cause I will be thing about you with a smile :-):-) hahaha all the way to the bank with my $1800 check for the week (average week on footage)

While I totally understand your point of view because some people are just downright stupid, let me just say something

I pay my suppliers an extra 6c/sf for board to have it delivered and if it is on a 2nd floor or basement, I have to pay an additional $1/sheet

Business is not what it used to be and I know, but I used to turn between 30 and 50k s.f. a week...you do the math...in my opinion, I pay to have it stocked where/when and how I want it...it is your job to do so(not yours technically, I mean the stocker in general)...so i don't really have sympathy for some of what your saying..some does have very good merit though...I wish stockers had to hang/finish all the fractured board that gets dropped on the stack the wrong way because the dumb stockers are in the wrong business..I had a job real bad one time...2600 sheets..9's and 10's 5/8 and 1800 of them were fractured...no lie...called usg and they sent a rep out and paid for the extra work to fix the drywall...now I can't say if usg ate it or they charged the supplier, but check was made out to me from usg

I understand some things just can't happen and I really take that in to affect when doing a takeoff...but some people dont so I understand your complaints

Re: Drywall Material Pricing

405/1000 for 1/2" reg
455/1000 for 1/2" ceil
505/1000 for 54"

Most of it is junk GP board.

Pricing is RETARDED up here. This is without any contractor account, mind you.
