All I'm saying is, anytime I've ever witnessed one on a forum they're never used for anything productive. IMO just a waste of valuable bandwidth.

A chat could be useful, but it could also serve as a place for debate which isn't good either. Chat works on some sites and sometimes it doesn't work on other sites. I've been running a chat network now for about 12 years and have seen all sorts of things. There is a way to do it however on a site such as this but it would require more than one chat and each one would be part of an individual category.
