Boarding and taping a house with 4 doormers.


To anyone ,just boarded a house with doormers and now taping it.I am using no coat flex tape any other thoughts?

No coats ok they say its stronger and easier but i myself find the paperfaced metal trims better, straighter, and stronger i only use nocoat on internals 130 degrees etc at this stage, but its all about trying and learning so get into it at see how things feel for you, maybe do some with no coat and some with paper face metal trims if the job allows in different rooms etc.

Is this your first time installing No-coat??
IMO, I wouldn't use any other compound than USG green to bed it in.

no not my first time installing no coat but allways open for new thoughts . could make installing easier or better quality.done taping the dormers now with no coat turned out awsome. but took a long time matching up all the angle cuts. i taped one and a half dormers per 9 hr day. will have pictures on face book under newfies drywall late this week or early next. thanks to all for the advice still open for more.dont now everything or pertend to.

lots of work around vancouver for anyone with a good head on their shoulders. wages did come down for a lot of guys though but there is still work. a lot of the donkeys got weeded out which is nice. if you found your way on to this site i'm pretty sure you'll figure out the format too. the site suggestions section is for the website not the job site silly.
